Things To Know
- Highlights – Mexico City, Aztec & Mayan Ruins, Gorgeous Beaches, Pueblos Magicos
- Language – Spanish
- Currency – Mexican Peso (MXN)
- Power Outlets – Mexico uses power plug, and socket types A & B (Same as the U.S.) The standard voltage is 127 V, with a standard frequency of 60 Hz. I always travel with a universal adapter to ensure I can keep all my devices and batteries fully charged.
- Safety – Many areas of Mexico are safe for travelers to visit. However, like many places, certain areas should be avoided due to high crime rates.
- Water Safety – Tap water is not safe to drink in Mexico. Used filtered bottled water to drink and to brush your teeth with while in Mexico. I travel with a LARQ purifying water bottle just to be safe.
- Transportation – Uber is available throughout most major cities and tourist areas in the country.
Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit Mexico will depend largely on which region you plan to visit. In general, though, the best time to visit Mexico is during the dry season, from December to April.
The winter months of December, January, and February are not only dry but are also the coolest months of the year. However, temperature4s can still reach above 80°F/27°C.
Many beach destinations we’ll see the highest crowds during the busy spring months of March and April.
To avoid large crowds and increased prices, consider visiting Mexico in May, just as the rainy season begins, or November, as the hurricane season comes to an end.
The rainy season in Mexico begins in May and runs through October.
